Kingston Vale Leisure Gardeners' Association
an allotment community growing together for over 80 years

Our first social event of the summer was held on Saturday 8th June at the Church of St John the Baptist, Kingston Vale.
This beautiful Victorian church has a pretty little garden tucked away behind it where it held its summer fair.
We had a stall at the edge of the lawn promoting the allotment site, selling raffle tickets for a well-stocked hamper, jams and some of our produce freshly picked that morning. It was a lovely community event and a good opportunity to talk to neighbours and other plot holders over tea, coffee and the most delicious home-made cakes.
Amongst the many stalls there were bees and local honey, plants and second-hand books for sale. There were donkey rides for children and a stall with reptiles that attracted both adults and children alike!
The whole event had a charming feel that took me back to my country childhood and, if you missed it this time, I would strongly recommend you visit it next year.
